Australian Society for Microbiology Inc. A not-for-profit organization. All of the Society's activities are carried out by members in a voluntary capacity. Lists different classes of membership, their quarterly journal and other publications, special interest groups and their leader, councils, and governing laws and constitutions.
Biophysical Society. Contains links to their annual meeting, journals, books, committees, newsletters, members directory, and links to other related sites and societies.
The British Phycological Society. Goal is to advance education by the encouragement and pursuit of all aspects of the study of algae and to publish the results of this research in a journal, and also in other publications. All publications of the Society are available to the general public. Within their page is information on meetings, memberships , journals, club constitution, and other related links. Bulletin of Marine Science. Dedicated to the dissemination of high quality research dealing with the tropical and subtropical waters of the world's oceans. Subscriptions must be published to access their work.
The Chinese Society of Microbiologists. Objectives of CSM are to organize scientific meetings and symposia and to publish journals and monographs on microbiology and related disciplines. Society information and hierarchy listed, no links.
European Journal of Phycology. Published in a large format, with particular emphasis on high quality reproduction, including colour plates. Subject areas include: macroalgal ecology, microalgal ecology, physiology and biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, macroalgal and microalgal systematics, applied phycology and biotechnology.

Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. Includes more than a dozen scoieties. Links to conferences, member directory, journals, publications, and other sources of information.
Federation of European Microbiological Societies. Includes a list of countries in their society. FEMS is currently linking 42 biological societies, encouraging joint activities, facilitating communication among microbiologists, supporting meetings and laboratory courses, providing fellowships, and publishing journals and books. There is further information to all of the above subjects via links on their page.
Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology. Includes three to six issues per volume. Under its new name (formerly known as the Journal du Conseil), it will continue to publish original papers within the broad field of marine and fisheries science, with particular reference to living resources and environmental processes. It will continue to be a primary source of high quality papers on fishery-oriented marine science and a standard reference in the fields of ecology, population studies, plankton research, and physical and chemical oceanography.

International Society for Applied Phycology. A non-profit organization aiming to promote research, preservation of algal genotypes and dissemination of knowledge concerning the utilization of algae. Contains links to committees, members, by-laws, their history, as well as algae related links.
International Society of Photosynthesis Research. Their goal is to encourage and promote the growth and development of photosynthesis as a pure and applied science, to facilitate the publication of topics relating to the study of photosynthesis, to organize the triennial International Congress on Photosynthesis, and to promote activities that foster international cooperation in scientific research and education. Contains links to a member directory, message board, on-line resources, meetings, officers, constitution, and committees.
Inter-Research Marine Ecology Progress Series. MEPS was the first comprehensive, integrated treatise on life in oceans and coastal waters. It's a worldwide forum for all aspects of marine ecology, fundamental and applied. The journal covers: microbiology, botany, zoology, ecosystem research, biological oceanography, ecological aspects of fisheries and aquaculture, pollution, environmental protection, conservation, resource management. Topics covered on this page include journals, book series, discussion forums, research, and important inter-related institutions.
Journal of Biological Chemistry. Contains searchable archives of past issues. Also has links to other related resources (i.e. other journals, resources, and databases).
Journal of Plankton Research. Publishes papers dealing with both zoo and phytoplankton, in marine, freshwater and brackish environments. Its three main topics include ecology, physiology, and distribution. Allowed to search for articles or browse the archive. In addition, there is also a link to other Oxford University Press Journals.
Limnology and Oceanography. Amer. Society of Limnology and Oceanography publishes 8 issues of L&O each year. Their unifying theme is the understanding of aquatic ecosystems. Also available are the CD archive and a searchable database. Under site menu link, one can search other links such as member directory, symposium, abstracts and bulletins.
Marine Technology Society Journal. This journal is a peer reviewed quarterly. The main page contains information on membership, publications, conferences, education, commmitees, as well as society and sponsor news.
New Zealand Microbiological Society. The introductory page has information about history and committees. In addition there are links to conferences, speakers, and the importance of microbiology in New Zealand.

Photosynthesis Research is the official journal of the International Society of Photosynthesis Research. The journal is open to papers of merit dealing with both basic and applied aspects of photosynthesis. Provides a complete catalogue, article database one can search. Phycologia is the International Phycological Society. Their page contains links to constitution, council members, related links and allows a database search of their web resources.

Phycological Society of Southern Africa. Page contains information on club constitution, member fees, publications, conferences, workshops, and related sites and resources.
Polar Biology is a journal that deals with all kinds of studies in plants, animals, and microorganisms of marine, limnic and terrestrial habitats of arctic and antarctic regions. They focus on life history, ecology, morphology and taxonomy, distribution, populations, physiology, behavior, and ecosystems. Has links to contents archive and database search.
Society for General Microbiology, UK. Its goal is to advance the art and science of microbiology. It does this by: organizing meetings, publishing journals, representing the profession to the gov't, media, and the public, promoting education at all levels, and informing members of current developments. The site contains information on the following: meetings, policy, membership and general info, journals, symposium books, education and careers, and a large amount of microbiol and virology related links.
Soil and Water Conservation Society of Metro Halifax has a large page with many diverse topics and an enormous amount of links. The topics include points of interest, field and data studies, and club activities.
