Native Ross
River
virus
Native Ross River virus cut-out view. The blue portion of the virus
represents the spike protein that covers nearly the entire capsid surface.
Beneath this spike protein lies the lipid bilayer (green) that comes from the
host cell
during budding. Underneath the lipid bilayer is the capsid protein
(structure determined by the Rossmann laboratory) shown in yellow. The capsid
protein and RNA form the inner core (red).
Ross River
virus (blue) complexed with antibody fragments (red) to the viral glycoprotein spikes.
Sindbis
virus (blue) complexed with antibody fragments(green) to the viral glycoprotien spikes.
